Glenwood Tiger Decal

CLASS OF 65

And any other previous class members!

Glenwood Tiger Decal

For those of you that missed it, the 40th High School Reunion was a great success!! We got updates of the "Now" Photos.  If you click on the "Now" photos, you can see classmates with their "Better Half" or an enlarged Photo.  Some of the "Then" photos of other classmates do not come out very good as a thumbnail photo.  Click on them for a better view.

Congratulations to all that attended "Class" Race Day at Oaklawn in 2006.

A reminder for all to periodically check our
View Class Guestbook.

Check out the Senior Class Trip photos

Take a nostalgic trip back in time to the 60s.

Class of "65"

a poem by Jan Galloway

Before the “information age” and “generation gap” –
let’s create a class of creatures oblivious to all that . . .

They will live life to the fullest, learn to play, laugh, and love; they will even fight
and know each others faults, learn to get along and make-up.

Some will be serious students - at their parents’ ”threat of death” demand;
however, when the bell has rung, they will play SO hard - until the very end!

Their football team may not be the greatest – but sportsmanship will prevail!
And their egos will not be so crushed - because they did their best; they could not fail!

And the girls’ basketball team will be blessed – all the way to State(!) – but the
friendships formed and bonds unbroken will far exceed the cheers, applause and promise of good fate!

They will NOT have mobile phones, text messaging or email to communicate with each other,
but they can pass handwritten notes, meet in the hall,
at the Drive-In or Dairy-Burger.

<>Before the world implements Equal Rights, Equal Opportunity, etcetera –
this class will learn to value people because of their abilities and character!

They will boast of the first-ever male cheerleader and, most especially,
DANCING at the senior prom.  Regardless of what people say – it’ll be great –
even if the band only knows three songs!

This class will not be troubled yet with fear of Vietnam, nor cursed with lack of respect;
but will be reinforced with a good worth ethic & patriotism -  not  neglect.

They will be guided throughout Glenwood High by Coach Jones, Miss Lively and
many others; yet childhood memories of noses on the chalkboard will fade as if it concerned “another”.

<>Mrs. Vaughn will “twear the halls” before typing class begins; and home-economics will not be an elective,
no matter how manly of the young men!

This class will go down in history as the real-life “HAPPY DAYS”  - in a town now somewhat changed by the times
but not hardened  by the world’s disarray..

Whether balding, spreading, forgetting or graying, this class will be SET APART -
not by worldly status, but by friendships, loyalty, concern for each other and,
above all, a special place in each other’s heart.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Glenwood High School - Class of ’65!
